Concert Hall Exhibit - Sydney Opera House

This exhibit went into the Bennelong Passage at Sydney Opera House on the 23rd December, 2020. My role as curator involved writing and designing the exhibit, which focuses on three principal aspects of the Concert Hall. The first was highlighting the work of Peter Hall, Sydney Opera House’s second principal architect, after Jørn Utzon’s withdrawal from the project, and whose Concert Hall design we see today. Secondly, the history and variety of performance - impossible to even begin to capture - but which nonetheless celebrates the wonderful work of staff photographers such as Ken Leanfore, Prudence Upton and Daniel Boud. Finally, the exhibition details the renewal works presently being undertaken to subtly recalibrate the space and align it with modern principals in acoustic design and audience experiences.

The exhibit is free and runs indefinitely, replacing the previous focus on John Coburn, which is detailed here.
